My contact, who works at both locations as hostess, tells me that they stopped selling it due to lack of interest. Perhaps Seed, which just opened another location in The Healing Center, might have it. Good luck!
It's painful to give this place 4 starts but gotta leave room from growth.Let me start by saying the food is incredible. (And please refresh the meaning of incredible when reading this). The atmosphere is eclectic and artsy and the staff know the meaning of customer service which, when done well, is no easy job.If you're visiting New Orleans, like I am, this is a perfect place to get some breakfast... It's worth the wait 😉
Amazing food. Not exactly close to anything else though. Bananas Foster is a must get. The staff was charming.
Been this place at my last day of the trip in Nola. I don’t know how to show how much I love this place. While I got the first bite of the banana foster, it feels like the food just completed my trip! I definitely will visit this place once I come back. Strongly recommend to everyone who wants to have a great breakfast to start a day.
Very BUSY. Good food but in pretty small portions for what you pay for. It's small and intimate, def wouldn't bring a large party of 4 or more. Not super kid friendly. My omelette only came with one side and I didn't feel like it was a full breakfast. The orange juice is VERY good but $6 for a large OJ was pretty steep considering it was non alcoholic. Like, you could press oranges at home for way less. It was overall nice but we def felt rushed in and out. I would come here again if I wasn't really looking for a big breakfast/brunch.
Tiny place with a creative character serving delicious hot dishes. Unique art on the walls for entertaining while waiting the your meal. Plenty to choose so lick than one to have an awesome and delightful experience. One check per table and all members of the party must be present in order to sit down. Expect a line on the weekends because a late night deserves a great hangover breakfast for all the late morning risers. Enjoy my foodie connoisseurs!
Fresh apple juice was fantastic, breakfast was good and filling. Homemade biscuits from scratch! A little on the pricier side.
Wow, juice bar doesn't begin to describe this place. I didn't even order juice. Great coffee, and delicious New Orleans takes on classic breakfasts. Full menu, space to sit down. Great place. We managed to squeeze 8 people in, but I wouldn't try to fit a larger group than that. We had a great experience.
This place came highly recommended and didn’t disappoint! Had the Costa Rican breakfast with limeade and absolutely loved it ! The service was fantastic - so friendly and helpful. Craig our waiter was awesome. Would definitely recommend and will be back next time we’re in NOLA :) thanks guys !
Very good breakfast in a local neighborhood establishment. Everyone was happy. Lean meats. Heavy biscuits. Eggs seemed larger and more flavorful than usual. Grits were good and creamy. I couldn't finish the Montana not my wife her scramble.
They have a 2 hour time slot due to Covid which is understandable for wanting to turnover tables & to clean.BUT THEY PROVIDE POOR SERVICE.
Came here based on rave biscuit reviews but if you’re looking for something fluffy these biscuits are not it. Very dense, looked like a roll. The grits are very creamy and delicious after adding salt and pepper though. Not many juice options for a “juice bar,” mostly make your own but gets quite expensive to add things beyond the standard juices like apple and orange.
Food is so delicious, you get seated rightaway. Food is "DELICIOUS." Freaking good and unique. Service is "EXCELLENT & DELIGHTFUL".... Craig was so kind..
I really enjoyed the food here. I got the Pain Perdu(French Toast,New Orleans style) & The Shrimp & Grits. Pricing was fine and the portions were large and tasted wonderful. I especially loved their juice as did my party(I had the limeade). The overall service was decent for the style of restaurant and the wait was not horrible especially since we had 11 people. A great final stop before heading home from vacation I would definitely recommend for a great local spot.
Came to try the bananas foster French toast but had to get it to go since I had just got off work. The staff at the bar were kind from me entering to leaving. I got the French toast and boudin sausage and they were both very delicious! Will definitely recommend and will be back to try some of the juices!
WOOOOOW best breakfast place ever. I was sooo happy with my order, Banana Foster French Toast. Hands down the best french toast I've ever had. What was so unique to me was the cream cheese it included because it was banana flavored. The sweet rum sauce it came with was also very delicious... I cleaned my plate to the rim. My friend ordered the crab meat omelette and that was really good as well. I thought the portions were perfect, not too small or big. There were no leftovers though because it was all so tasty!
Wow ! Amazing place for breakfast. Loved everything on the menu. The freshly squeezed juices were delicious. And they serve the best biscuits. Service was excellent and helpful. There was a genuine desire to help us have a great experience. Run and have breakfast there, don't wait. Run there and bring your appetite with you.
I love the atmosphere in here although seating is quite close. The food is great and the service is better. I definitely recommend stopping by here. It's a great spot for families though I wouldn't have more than 6-7 people as seating could be an issue.
I really liked this quaint spot. The wait is a little long if you don't come at the right time but it didn't seem to be long because we were people watching and seeing things all around us. The servers were friendly and it was quite fast. The Surrey house breakfast, I added potatoes, I had was filling and hit all the spots for me. Hubbs got the biscuits and sausage gravy, which he really liked. I didn't like the sausage because it was not the sausage patty, it was the linked sausage, and the biscuits to me were a little hard on the outside. We also had their pineapple, mango, and Apple juice blend which was great.
Banana Foster! Great dining experience from start to finish. Always a great atmosphere and friendly staff
Definitely the best place in the Garden District to eat. We went for breakfast and it was a experience! The food was amazing taste and beautiful presentation. The place is small but they work really well to get everyone seating fast. No rush, not price, feels like home.
Great place for breakfast, lunch or brunch! Mardis Gras pancake is epic. Sandwiches are hearty. Pick your favorite famous name for the guest waiting list - people have a lot of fun with this. Juice is very fresh. Thriving atmosphere - good location.
I ordered crab omelette. The portion wasn't big. But, it was very delicious. Service was also pretty good.Due to its location (close to many hotels and bed & breakfast) it's pretty busy and you may need to wait in line for some time. It's not huge inside. Overall, I was happy and will probably go back.
Out-of-towner, came via tv recommendation. Service has excellent and prompt. Food was delicious and well worth the modest price. Recommend the Bananas foster French toast and the Shrimp and grits.
The banana French toast was amazing. They cooked eggs over medium correctly which I find difficult for restaurants to do. The wait was pretty long 45 mins but it was really worth it. The staff was nice and helpful and made no mistakes.
Love this place. Great neighborhood cafe - friendly service. Tasty local food. No fuss.
Brilliant food and service. Certainly a bit pricey, but the quality of the food was top notch. My favorite by far was the banana french toast. Ludicrously nice texture with contrasting bites of soft and hard bread along with some excellent banana and caramel flavors. Will certainly returning just for the toast alone before we leave!
The Bananas Foster French Toast is incredible! Cute little place with delicious food.
Went here for breakfast with friends. I ordered the breakfast burrito with a fresh juice. Food was good I felt full. Fresh squeezing of the juices was not bad. Would go again. Seemed to be a little busy
Probably one of the best breakfast places around. We ordered shrimp and grits, crab omelette and banana rug.. I meant Banana pancake! That’s one massive pancake! This is gem of a place. A must try!
I think this is hands down the best breakfast I have ever had. We even got it as takeout so I can't even imagine how great it would have been right out of the oven. The BBQ shrimp and grits were the best I had ever had. Additionally the stuffed bananas foster french toast was also the best I had ever had. I can't wait to go back to New Orleans to have Surrey's again. This is a little off the beaten path but Magazine street has a ton of restaurants that are pretty awesome.
Usually a long wait for a table but worth it. Food is great and love their orange juice. The place is small so not recommended for large parties.
Small place with big character and delightful plates! Loved all the art on the walls and the casual, local feel. Our server was also super friendly and helpful. The shrimp and grits were PERFECT. Often grits are too watery, etc. I wanted to come back everyday! Expect a short wait, but they’re pretty quick about getting food out and people through.
4.5 YUM. Such a delicious plate of shrimps and grits. I could have this for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The sauce worked well with the grits and created a great balance, though, I would be satisfied eating it with just the bread (and bacon of course). Also, this place serves one of the best black coffee ever (not featured sadly). Juice is also really good!! Highly recommend this spot!
my new spot...from now on when i come to new orleans i am headed here first...just amazing...in every way !!!! when i want to impress someone i am taking them here.
The omelette was nice. I only wish it had more seafood in the sauce. The flavor was on point, the biscuit was fresh and soft. The boudin sausage patties went well with the cheese grits but I'd prefer them to fry them harder next time. I was disappointed that they didn't have their homemade juice but that's no reason to give a bad rating. The service was excellent so, I plan on coming back.
This place is cute and cozy. A must try is the Banana Foster French Toast. The home fries are amazing. My The friends had other things and they loved their meals. The only thing that they are missing is some alcoholic drinks and this place would be perfect.
We decided to come checkout Surrey’s from a friends suggestion. I am really glad we listened to her! Loved the food. About a 15 minute wait in a nice quiet neighborhood the servers were great (third pic) and the manager (middle of pic) was really cool. My servers made sure my coffee never ran out(very important) my wife had the crab meat omelette and I had the Montana.... sooo much meat and very tasty. This is a must visit location.
This was the best grits hands down ! The coffee was perfect after a flight in. Staff were friendly and helpful. Especially for any insights into the local scene. I enjoyed the food and would definitely go back if in New Orleans again. Local artists make the paintings and any other sculptures on the site. Try everything u will not be disappointed!
Bananas foster french toast is amazing! As well as the breakfast burrito. Awesome locations and delicious options for everyone.
This place is worth the wait!! Gorgeous food, fun atmosphere, and lots of fun art on the walls. The shrimp and grits was legendary!
We had the crab sandwich and crab omlet. Both were great. Local artists have some New Orleans items there. It's worth the wait!
Absolutely amazing breakfast/brunch. I got the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and goat cheese. The corned beef was packed with warm flavors and the eggs and potatoes set the dish off. Great homemade bagels and fresh organic juice. Surrey’s was suggested to me from a local friend. I’ll make this a go to “must” anytime I come to New Orleans.
This place is amazing. I rediscovered a hot sauce that I really liked a lot when I went to Costa Rica here. The breakfast was really tasty and the special juice of the day was really good. I wish this place was in Portland, OR.
I had the crab omlete, it was good, quick, and well put together, but the flavors didn't wow me the way I thought such a rich dish should. The portion size wasn't too big, which I believe is a good thing. But for the high price I just thought it should tickle the pallet a little more.
Small place, no more than a group of four, perfect for the wife and I. They are creative and placed condiment on the wall, to save space on the table for the well portion plate of food. It was so good and I had to force myself to stop eating. Recommend the shrimp and grits, every bite was AMAZING. Also they appreciate military members... Would love to go back again.
Surrey's came as a recommendation from a friend and he did not steer me wrong. Super cute and quaint little juice bar with excellent food. I ordered the Barbecue Shrimp and Grits, which were amazing. I highly recommend. I also ordered a cup of coffee with chicory and it wasn't the greatest, but the shrimp and grits somehow made up for what it was lacking. The service was quick and good as well. Surrey's gets my stamp of approval.
Great people. Great food fast serve. Everything was so good we loved the biscuits made from scratch made us drool!!!
One of the best French toast I ever had. Banana forest French toast is a must here. Nice cozy place & nice people.
My girlfriends and I had brunch here while exploring the garden district on a recent trip to NOLA and the food was FANTASTIC!! The place is really small but artsy and cute. Just know that you have to wait outside to be seated so if it’s raining that might be a factor to consider. We had the bananas foster French toast, crab omelet, shrimp and grits and oatmeal and all were delicious!! The French toast was the stand out for me, and their from scratch biscuits! We ended up getting a few of them a la carte and were really happy about that choice. The service was great and the food was fantastic! The portions aren’t as big as some places but was still plenty to fill up. I definitely recommend if you’re in the area!
Service was okay, not great. I had a basic breakfast, but eggs ordered over easy were overcooked. Thought the grits would be "basic" grits, they were odd, really thick, chewy and salty-there must have been some added cheese? Parm? They were not tasty. Juice was relly good, liked that they have rye and whole grain breads for toast options. Overall, there are better places to have a simple good breakfast here in the city, and I'll go elsewhere.
